Fluide Media founder is racing across the Atlantic Ocean!

Montreal, May 01, 2009 – Alok Chowdhury, founder of Fluide Media, is embarking on the most arduous and epic adventure of his life: a solo rowing race across the Atlantic Ocean.

Chowdhury, 33, is a part of the only Canadian team to be participating in The 2009 Atlantic Rowing Race, and one of 20 teams. As a part of Team Ocean Challenge (composed of Robert Idinsga, Mike Jirasek and Alok Chowdhury), he will be rowing on a three man boat the size of a pickup truck. The race, which leaves from San Sebastian, La Gomera (Canary Islands) on December 6, 2009, is 5,500 kilometres and is expected to take about three months.

Chowdhury is racing not only for the challenge, but to also raise awareness for the Childrens Wish Foundation. The trip will cost approximately $200,000 and any funds above and beyond trip expenses will be donated to the Foundation.
